Thomas J. Estill received a B.A. in Biology from San Jose State University in 1975, and a M.Ed. in Education with an emphasis in Environmental Science Education, from Plymouth State University in New Hampshire in 1991. Currently Thomas is employed by the Chabot Space and Science Center as a Public Program Specialist. In the past Thomas has worked as a science teacher and naturalist, working with students from the middle school to college level. Since 1983 Thomas has received numerous Teacher of the Year Awards from the school districts he has taught in. Thomas is a current member of the following organizations: National Audubon Society, Planetary Society, National Space Society, and East Bay Astronomical Society. Thomas has two grown children, Courtney and Christopher. Thomas enjoys most of all being out of doors canoeing, studying nature, and stargazing. Sharing his love of outer space and space exploration with others has been an avocation of Thomas Estill’s for more than thirty years.
